#LIFE: What To Wear to the Cintron Pink Polo at Val De Vie Estate

In a matter of days, 5 to be exact, the stylish, the beautiful, the flamboyant of socialites will flock down to Val De Vie Estate in the Paarl/Franschhoek Valley in support of Breast Cancer Awareness at the Cintron Pink Polo event. Saturday, 4 November, 2017, will see the crème-de-la-crème of society pull out all the stops in the name of a great cause, and a good polo match, of course.

Will you be there? Make sure you are on Computicket right now buying up the last of the hospitality tickets so that you don’t miss out.  If you have already secured your place with the best of the best, next is to ensure you don’t get flogged for not dressing the part. We are here to show you our support by giving you inspired looks to don on the day so you’re comfortable and stylish at the same time.

Fabricate!
No, not as in lie, but rather as in choose the materials you wear wisely. Cotton and linen are most ideal. Apart from being extremely lightweight on the body, they breathe really easy and they assist in moisture control as the day at the polo could get heated: on and off the pitch. If you go a little bit more opulent, 100% raw silk or even Egyptian cotton would be perfect for their durability as well and their tendencies to manage crease-control much better than the rest.

See the colour!
It’s not called the ‘Cintron Pink Polo’ for nothing. Pink is your first stop when choosing colours. We know it doesn’t always work with everyone, but start there anyway. Also, pink comes in a variety of hues, shades and tonal values. You could go really dark with the pink, moving into reds, or switch it up to something lighter, moving towards pastel, cotton candy pink and even dip into the peaches. If you’re moving out of pink, settle into a combination of grays and blues, perhaps some light greens with tan and burgundy. Whatever you do, don’t be bland.

Be suitable.
We all have a type; we just sometimes don’t see it. With the polo, your type could either be a really formal double-breasted tapered leg suit in a royal blue and red checked fabric. And that’s okay. Another gent might be better suited for a single-button cropped suit in pink with a lemon golf shirt. With the weather promising to be all types of supportive to the initiative, a shorts suit in linen with a casual graphic floral print shirt would be a perfect fit for any guy with the legs to show off.

Either way, whatever you wear needs to show a bit of personality and evidence of you making an effort. Hopefully our tips and images will inspire you to take an extra step towards enhancing your appearance and we look forward to rubbing shoulders with you and your party.
